Most car-shopping tools help you browse, but they don’t help you decide. Buyers face fragmented listings, unclear pricing, hidden vehicle risks, and confusing financing math — and they’re expected to figure it out themselves.
We built GetCarWise to fix that. The goal: free, intelligent research tools that put the buyer first in a market that historically hasn’t.
The Launch of CarClever
CarClever is our flagship product — an AI car-shopping copilot that lives inside ChatGPT, Claude, and other supported AI assistants. CarClever helps you search live U.S. used and certified pre-owned inventory, score deals against real market data, surface vehicle history report links when dealers provide them, identify branded titles before you waste time on the wrong listing, estimate true monthly ownership cost, and compare your top picks side-by-side.
When you find a vehicle worth pursuing, CarClever routes you to the full dealer listing on Edmunds — our marketplace partner — where you can view all photos, contact the dealer, and continue your purchase journey.
Who We Are Today
GetCarWise is an independent research publisher. We do not sell vehicles. We are not a dealer. We are not a lender. We do not produce vehicle history reports — we surface links to existing reports (such as Carfax) when dealers make them available. Our role is to add a research and decision-making layer before you engage with sellers, so you arrive at the dealer informed and prepared.
We are a small team of technologists and automotive consumer advocates. We believe car buying should be transparent, evidence-based, and free of pressure tactics — and our tools are designed around that belief.
How We Make Money
CarClever is free to use. We participate in an affiliate marketing program with Edmunds. When you click through to a dealer listing on Edmunds via CarClever, we may earn a commission if you take certain actions on Edmunds. This does not change the price you pay, and it does not influence our Deal Scores, risk indicators, or recommendations — those are calculated independently from listing data.
Affiliate compensation funds our operations and lets us keep CarClever free for shoppers. Where any link in CarClever or on this site may earn us a commission, we label it as a paid link near the link itself.
